As we enter the planning phases of our biggest fundraiser of the year, our 5K Run for Prevention in September, and preparation for our Thanksgiving in July food drive I believe it’s important to reflect on what we’ve achieved in our five years in business in Springfield, Illinois, and to thank our patients, family, friends for their contribution. Supporting, those who are most in need, in our communities at home and overseas, is extremely important to the AlignLife of Springfield team.
This will be our fifth Thanksgiving in July food drive, which has previously resulted in Fifth Street Renaissance receiving 565 nonperishable food items in 2014, Kumler Outreach Ministries receiving 830 of nonperishable food items in 2015, Sojourn Shelter & Services receiving almost 1,000 nonperishable food items and toiletries in 2016, and Kumler Outreach Ministries receiving more than 1,200 nonperishable food items and toiletries in 2017. We are looking forward to reaching an even higher goal this year – with your help and through your continued generosity.
Our annual 5K in Washington Park will take place on September 29 to raise funds for Health Missions, which provides overseas aid to impoverished communities as well as in the US is just five months away. This year will mark our 4th annual Run for Prevention, which continues to grow each year attracting, not just patients and their families and friends, but competitive runners too.
We are always looking to support and partner with organizations in order to improve the lives of those in our community.
I was honored, in April, to accept on behalf of AlignLife of Springfield Chiropractic and Natural Health Center the University of Illinois Springfield Good as Gold Business Honor Roll – with 50 or fewer employees – award. This award is a reflection of the dedication our team here at AlignLife and those that support us, our patients, family and friends – thank you.
We look forward to announcing our chosen charity for Thanksgiving in July in the coming weeks and launching this year's food drive.
