Sojourn Shelter & Services and Mini O’Beirne Crisis Nursery set to benefit from AlignLife of Springfield Thanksgiving in July

This year we are teaming up with Sojourn Shelter & Services and Mini O’Beirne Crisis Nursery for our Thanksgiving in July drive.

We are offering a free exam and consult to new patients that donate items during the month. Also, Emily Handley, our licensed massage therapist is offering a free massage session to each new patient that donates*.

Mini O’Beirne Crisis Nursery launched in 1989 with the mission to prevent child abuse and neglect by providing emergency, temporary care, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for children who may be at risk or whose parents are experiencing some type of crisis in Springfield, Illinois.

Sojourn Shelter & Services provides shelter services, children's programs, court advocacy, nonresidential services, prevention, and education programs and a volunteer program.

Last year we donated more than 1,000 items to Helping Hands of Springfield and could not have done so without your help. We are hoping to collect at least – or more than – 1,000 for SoJourn Shelter & Services and Mini O’Beirne Crisis Nursery and to help raise awareness of these two organizations and the amazing work they do in our community.
Donations such as this are so important because people are in need 365 days of the year. From our experience, working with these local nonprofits, people are always very generous around Christmas but donations of nonperishable food items or hygiene products at this time of year are much needed. It’s during the summer months, when school is out, that parents or caregivers have to put extra food on the table when they are already struggling to make ends meet. It is in the summer often that food pantries, food banks, and similar services are at their busiest and most desperate. This is why we choose to run out Thanksgiving initiative in July.
